I love the sand between my toes and the feeling of warm sunshine on my face. I’ve been longing to take a trip to Florida to enjoy some time at the beach, and this year we were able to take a family vacation there. I was so inspired by our trip, that I decided to create a FUN 27 Page Beach Activity Pack for kids and bring the tropics home after our time enjoying the sand and surf.

I grew up in Florida and I miss living in the sunshine state. As a young girl, my parents and I would travel to south Florida frequently to visit my grandparents from Cuba there. We would often make trips to the beach to enjoy time together as a family. My dad tells stories of flying kites and collecting seashells in Cuba. My latin family has a long history of enjoying tropical climates.

Collect Seashells

This summer, while we were at the beach, I encouraged my kids to gather seashells for crafts. I wanted to create some keepsakes from our trip to the sandy shore. I explained to the boys that if we cleaned the seashells we could glue them to frames or driftwood to make crafts that would remind us of our trip. My boys were delighted to sift through sand to find seashells.

27 Page Beach Activity Pack

Our time at the beach was incredibly inspiring. After nearly two weeks at the beach I feel rested and renewed. Bring the Tropics Home

This beach themed play pack helped me teach my kids about the beach. I also added some sensory play, with tropical flavors like my Lemonade Pineapple Punch, and tropical scents, with my beach-themed candle. Extension activities for this 27 Page Beach Activity Pack include a printable “Where’s The Beach” Board Game. You can use seashells as game pieces. Just roll the dice and the first player to get the bucket of sand to the sand castle wins! You can even ride the waves to skip ahead a few spaces. Great fun for everyone.

Piece together Broken Shells

Even broken shells can create a sensory experience for kids. Show children how broken pieces fit together to create a whole seashell, and teach kids about the animals that once lived in these shells.

What about clean up?

“Oops mom, I spilled my lemonade.” When you’re creating with glue and drinking lemonade, spills are inevitable. For me, that’s half the fun, making messes means my kids are enjoying  themselves, and together we’re making memories.
